Computing (ICT) at Springfield

Computing at Springfield aims to teach the children to understand and apply the key principles and concepts of computer science, putting this knowledge to use through programming. It helps to develop responsible, confident and safe users of different types of technology. Children will be taught computing primarily through Purple Mash, using a range of cross-curricular links where appropriate. Children will understand the use of technology in everyday life and will be able to identify and approach technology as resourceful learners. At Springfield, we aim for the children to become digitally literate – so they are able to express themselves through ICT – an increasingly important skill in if they are to be active participants in a digital world.
